I am done with classes for the day! Score! Not to mention, I even got out of one class early. So, there you go. Anyway, this week is Fan Fic Author Appreciation Week...and I haven't posted anything the past few days, or today. So, I'll post a paragraph or so about at least three authors. Possibly more since there are quite a few authors that I love to read. Those of you that I know in person...just wait. ^_^ I'll get to you. So get ready folks. This is going to be a long one.

I'd have to say that one of the very first authors that really got me into the Spuffy pairing would have to be

jypzrose . I read Phantom Whispers on Spuffy Archives and that got me to visiting her site and reading her other stories. There are some stories that have a similar plot (ghost story) and some turn out pretty good. Some turn out incredibly cheesy. Hers? One of the best things that I have ever read. Her stories are just so detailed and the characterization is just wonderful. What I really like about her writing is even when you're saying that there's probably no way that this character would act this way, she does the characterization so well that you believe that if this storyline was on the show, this is how the characters would have acted. And when she incorporates an original character into one of her Buffyverse stories, they're not a Mary Sue or a Gary Sue (those names just crack me up). The characters will have flaws and they'll clash with each other or one of the characters on the show. So you don't even have to worry about that either. If you haven't read any of her work, then I recommend you do so quickly. And if you're not into Spuffy (the stories Speedway and Stalk Her are another two of my favorites), then I believe she has some of her original works at her site as well.

Now once I started checking out her site, I decided to check out the links that she had. This led me to

kantayra . I first read Blue Horizon, an awesome Spuffy AU. One of the best things about this story? The length. It was long with long chapters and I felt like I had just read a really good book. So I started reading more of her stories and found that here was another author that was able to nail the characterization of the characters. Some of the lines that she comes up with just cause me to laugh out loud. (Besides, you know you're good when people steal your work four times.)And those scenes that are affectionately known as "smut scenes" by many? They're good. (I just had to add that in there since I remember one of her journal entries about this kind of writing.) It's not just the Buffyverse that she writes in either. She's also written some Lost (Sawyer and Kate stuff...wow is all I will say) and Alias stuff. (That Sark story just made me laugh out loud. Oh, the pun....the pun....) Oh! I can't believe I almost forgot. Another AU of hers...The Crimson Codex, which is a series of books that she's writing where Spike actually turns Buffy during School Hard, who then joins him and Drusilla. That has to be one of the most addicting stories that I've ever read. I can't tell you how long I spent in that computer lab reading this story. So check that one out. She's also writing a fic with the next author I'm about to mention...

Did you guess who it was? If you said, kallysten then you get the prize! Or a gold star, not sure which. And how did I find out about her stories? Well, I actually just found the fic His Childe on fanfiction.net after my friend told me about it and thought it sounded interesting. After that, well I was hooked on the series. One of the things that I love about the way she writes is that many of her stories turn into a series. Like the Bloody Soul series (there will soon be a fourth story in this series and I can't wait!). There's also Baby Steps, which it turns out was an answer to one of kantayra's challenges. And the story of hers that I am currently hooked on? Blurred Bloodlines. It's a Spike/Angel story that takes place after Not Fade Away and I am really enjoying it...yet there are only a few chapters left (and poor Spike! Gah!). The way she uses flashbacks to show us the relationshipe between Angelus and William, Angelus and Spike, and then goes to the present with Angel and Spike...it grabs you. So even if you don't like slash, the story would still be worth it for that alone. And again, not to get repetitive, but here's another author who just completely gets the characterization. (Can you tell that's a big thing with me?) The characters will do something and I'll just think that if the Buffyverse was still around (well, the show anyway), then this might be the way that Joss would have them act.

So, there you go. Three absolutely talented writers that I highly suggest you read. If you haven't gotten the chance to read them yet, then you are definitely missing out. Check them all out! I'll be posting more authors tomorrow or later this week.

I totally agree with all three of those authors. I mean, wow. I remember reading all of those stories (well, most of them) that got you hooked.

Aww... Thanks so much, dear. *blushes* Glad to know I don't apply to my own smut rants. :P And thanks for forgiving me for the Alias fic. *snorf* *hugs* ^_^

Hmm, going to have to read some spuffy fics sometime...I usually stick to the addictive yet evil (in a good way of course!) draco/ginny stories. LOL.
