Haunted (Veronica/Logan, Veronica/Duncan)
This was supposed to be posted at least twenty minutes ago but since I wasn't able to get on the computer until fairly late, I'm only getting to post it now. It's an AU of my fic, Haunted, and it was written for the VM What If Challenge. (Okay, really, this is a continuation since I didn't actually change anything until towards the end. Once you get to the end of the fic, I'll say which question I used.

Warning: Non-con, though nothing graphic.

It's like I'm lost
It's like I'm giving up slowly
It's like you're a ghost that's haunting me
Leave me alone

Veronica felt like she was suffocating. It brought back memories of a night months ago, locked in a freezer and screaming to get out. Only it wasn't Aaron who'd locked her up this time.

It was herself.

She wasn't the same girl that she'd been two years ago, she'd been ripped apart by people who had been friends until she'd put herself back together into someone new. Someone who didn't back down. Someone who had been relatively happy sometimes, if she were honest with herself.

That girl wasn't there anymore. She'd show up every now and then, let the world get a glimpse of her and then she'd disappear again. The Veronica from before was the one the world saw now. She'd locked up the Veronica from the past year and only let her out if it was to insult Dick. There'd been those cases she'd taken on as well.

And then there was Logan.

Logan brought out the Veronica from last year more often than most people could. She didn't know how but she knew it happened. And then Veronica, Lilly and Duncan's Veronica, would put in an appearance and she'd become this odd mixture of both. She was naive, scared, bitter, and looking for the truth.

She fought back a sigh as she laid back on the bed. Things with Duncan were...well, they weren't at their best, that was for certain. Every time she saw him, she thought of how Celeste hadn't known they were together, how he felt the need to lie to her about visiting Meg. And the feeling of suffocating returned.

It felt like she was locked up inside herself, screaming and pounding to be let out. Veronica knew that she could undo the locks. She knew that while she couldn't really go back to the girl from before, she could be more like her again.

She just wasn't sure if she was brave enough.

She frowned at the thought and deliberately turned her thoughts to a different subject. Not that the new subject was any better.

She didn't want to think of Logan and she didn't want to remember the sounds of pleasure she'd heard through the wall not so long ago.

And she definitely didn't want to remember what it had been like to be on the receiving end of all that intense concentration that was pure Logan.

Unbidden, memories began to assault her and she closed her eyes, giving herself over to the sensations that the memories brought with them.

Veronica groaned as Logan's hands skimmed up her side, brushing across her breast, caressing her nipple.

"Like that?" he asked softly.

"Yes," Veronica whispered, her hands following the same path that Logan's once had. Her shirt inched up until she had to sit up to pull it off and over her head. She unclasped her bra, dropping it to the floor. She laid back down, her hands drifting down her front to her chest.

"Logan..." Veronica's hands were gripping his upper arms as he lowered his head, swirling his tongue around one nipple. He tugged at it with his teeth causing Veronica to gasp and buck up against him. "Logan," she repeated.

Logan smiled against her skin, lifting his eyes to meet hers. "Shh..." he whispered.

She bit her lip to keep from crying out as she tugged at her own nipple, a gasp escaping her as she felt herself grow more wet. She tilted her head back, remembering what it had felt like to feel a warm tongue licking a trail from her neck down and how it had felt to feel slightly rough hands gliding over her skin.

Her hands wandered lower, tugging open the button to her jean skirt so that she could push it down. Somewhere in the back of her mind she knew that she didn't need to pull off the skirt but she had to. If she didn't get rid of these clothes now she was going to go insane.

"Pants off. Now," Veronica gasped, lifting her hips. Logan laughed sending shivers across her skin.

"Why, Veronica, you know how much it excites me when you get bossy," he teased. His voice was low, arousal evident in his eyes and just about everything else. Slowly, Veronica rotated her hips against him.

"Then you're probably going to explode soon."

Breath coming quicker, she kicked the skirt off her feet, hooking her fingers in the waistband of her panties and tugging them down until she was able to kick them off as well.

Immediately she fell back, eyes still closed, and let her hands glide over stomach and lower. She bent one leg at the knee and shifted, opening her legs a bit. Her fingers traced over the place where thigh and hip met before venturing lower and she moaned as she felt how wet she was.

Logan was trying to drive her insane and it was working. He'd tortured her by taking his time removing their clothes and now that they were both naked, he began to kiss his way up her legs, biting down gently on her inner thigh. Veronica gasped.

"Don't you dare stop," she ordered between gasps.

"Really wasn't planning to."

One finger circled her clit causing her to whimper. She opened her legs further as she slid her hand down, sliding a single finger inside herself. She began to move, inserting another finger, in and out, in and out.

Vaguely she realized the bed was dipping beneath the weight of another person but she couldn't bring herself to open her eyes. Fingers trailed up the inside of her thigh and Veronica licked suddenly dry lips.

She removed her fingers from herself, moving them back up to once again play with her clit. A satisfied moan escaped her as she felt the bed shift again and two fingers enter her.

She lifted her hips, thrusting against both hands as a third finger entered her.

"Are you sure?" Logan's voice was no more than a whisper as he asked and Veronica didn't answer for a moment. She could feel the tense way he held himself and knew that despite how close they were if she changed her mind, he'd do everything he could to pull back. She didn't say anything as she looked up at him and merely spread her legs wider, lifting one to hook around his waist and pull him down.

Their first time wasn't romance movie perfect and it wasn't something that one could film and sell in a porn store. It was a bit awkward, the way Veronica imagined most first times were. She didn't care though because she hadn't ever felt anything the way she was now as Logan's thrusts became more sure.

She bit her lip, fighting to keep from crying out and he smirked down at her as if he knew. Her leg tightened around his waist as she managed to lift her other to also wrap around him. Her hips lifted, meeting him thrust for thrust and she let out a strangled cry as he entwined one of his hands with hers. His other hand slipped easily between their bodies to where they were joined and Veronica could feel something building up inside her as his fingers began to do things to her she didn't know were possible.

His hips slammed down into hers as he pinched her clit and suddenly everything was exploding and her back was arching, trying to get even closer to him.

"Logan," she breathed as she felt the orgasm rush over her. The hand that was between her legs froze and Veronica tensed in response. She was suddenly very sure that she didn't want to open her eyes. Opening her eyes would mean that she'd have to admit that Logan's touch still haunted her. Opening her eyes meant that she'd have to face whoever was sitting on the bed and, no matter what happened or who it was, it was going to be awkward.

She opened her eyes.

"It looks like we need to talk," Duncan said. Looking at him, Veronica knew he was fighting to keep from lashing out, fighting to keep his voice even.

She shuddered at that look and suddenly wished that she could close her eyes and magic her clothes back on. Better yet, she'd go back in time and lock her door.

Or maybe it would be wise to just go back in time and avoid thinking of Logan altogether.

Veronica watched as he stood and turned as if he couldn't bear to look at her. "Duncan," she started, only to cut herself off when he whirled back around, eyes flashing.

"Shut up! Do you know what this feels like? To know that the one person who's supposed to love you more than anyone else thinks of someone else when you're with them? Have I ever said Meg's name when I was with you? How would you feel if I did?" he demanded.

The words that she knew she should say wouldn't form. She knew she should tell him that it would destroy her to hear Meg's name, that she'd be incredibly hurt.

Maybe a month ago, she could have said that and meant it. She couldn't do it now.

Duncan stared at her as if coming to the same realization and she saw something in his eyes break.

She sucked in a breath, trying to push back the sudden fear she felt building up inside her. This was Duncan. He wouldn't hurt her. She kept telling herself this but all she could remember was Logan's description of Duncan choking his father and the way he'd screamed at her later and deep down she knew that this wasn't the Duncan she'd fallen in love with years ago. This was someone else entirely.

He dropped back on the bed, straddling her and Veronica was once again aware of just how vulnerable she was in this state.

"Duncan," she whispered, hoping against hope that he would snap out of it and realize what he was doing. He didn't respond, just settled his weight against her and pinned her wrists down. "Duncan," she repeated, her voice getting louder, more urgent. "Duncan, stop."

"I'll make you say my name," he told her. Veronica wanted to scream, she knew she should, there was nothing stopping her.

Nothing except for the fact that she didn't want to know what Duncan would do if she decided to scream.

She'd rather have his hands around her wrists than her throat.

He leaned over her, his breath brushing over her neck. "I'll make you forget Logan exists." She whimpered as she felt his body cover hers more fully and she felt him grinding down against her, trying to force a reaction out of her. She struggled, twisting her legs and trying to throw him off her. She felt the panic building in her when he simply groaned and let go of her wrists to start groping his way down her body.

"Duncan, get off me," she shouted, finally able to push against him using her hands. He barely budged and her breath hitched on a sob as she felt his lips brush against her breast. She shook her head in denial. Duncan wasn't doing this.

His hands gripped her waist as he moved back up and pressed his mouth against hers. She felt him press down against her as he forced his tongue passed her lips.

The situation was suddenly too much for her and it was as if Veronica could actually feel the Veronica from last year taking over. Anger coursed through her and she bit down, sucking in a breath when he pulled back, his face contorted in pain. Her knee shot up and she felt a spike of satisfaction when she heard his cry of pain and felt his grip loosen.

She didn't wait but shoved at him, rolling off the bed in the process. She could hear Duncan cursing behind her but she didn't pause, just grabbed her robe from the chair she'd draped it over this morning. She pulled it on, hastily tying it closed, grabbing her keys just as Duncan grabbed her from behind.

No, she thought. She wasn't going to freeze up again she decided as he spun her around to face him. Sucking in a breath, she gripped her keys and jabbed them into his side, digging in as much as she could and stomping on his foot in the process. Pushing him away, she ran out of the room, not pausing to close the door of her apartment behind her.

The moment she realized that she was in her car and on the road, her breathing began to speed up. Veronica knew that she had to go somewhere, she just didn't know where. Wallace was out of town for a basketball game, his mom and brother there with him, showing their support. Her dad was gone on a case and she had learned long ago that she couldn't count on the police.

The only person she could think of was Logan and as she turned towards his house, she prayed that he wouldn't slam the door in her face.

She forced herself to calm down as she turned into the familiar driveway, thankful that he'd even had the gates open. It meant that he was home.

He had to be.

Please be home, she thought as she climbed out of the car, wincing as she stepped on a rock. She stumbled up to the door and pounded on it, waiting for it to open. Veronica was barely holding herself together as everything that had just happened began to sink in. She began to shake as she realized that this time, Duncan couldn't blame the drugs on what he'd been about to do.

The word echoed in her mind, taking her back to a morning in December with a ripped white dress and her underwear on the floor before taking her to her room, with the boy who was supposed to be safe.

The door opened and Veronica looked up, barely noticing the shock on Logan's face as he took in her appearance.

"I...I didn't know where else to go," she said softly. He stared at her a moment and then he was reaching out and gently pulling her inside.

"Come on, you can borrow some sweats and a shirt," he told her softly. It was obvious that he wanted to demand to know what had happened but he was holding off until he thought she could handle it. Veronica nodded as he closed the door behind her and she let out a breath when she heard the click of the lock.

She was safe here.

A/N: The question I worked with was what if Duncan decided to make Veronica scream his name? And really, I know this could have been darker and I was actually hoping to make it darker but after such a long absence and being so close to the deadline, this was as dark as I could make it. Hopefully, I've managed to balance this well and you enjoyed this! Thanks for reading!

ooo, this was really good. I wish the show was a little darker like this. I really would have enjoyed a darker, dangerous Duncan then a robot. I think Teddy Dunn did a good job when they had Duncan go a little nuts. But enough about the show, this story is just what I wanted out of the prompt. I really liked it and I'm actually glad that you didn't have Duncan rape her because it would be just like Veronica to fight back. Anyways, this was great and don't worry about it being late, I have a feeling a lot of the fics are going to be late. lol. Great job.

You have no idea on how big my sigh of relief was just now. LOL. First of all, thank you so much for the great feedback and the wonderful prompts. Do you know how hard it was to pick out of all those? *g* But this one seemed to work the most.

I do, however, agree that I wouldn't want Duncan to actually rape Veronica, though I think I might have wanted to push it a little further. Of course, that may be too traumatizing for Veronica and I think the point where she started to fight back worked. *glances at it* Okay, maybe I'll end up re-reading this one more time to assure myself of that but I still wanted to say thanks for the great idea and comment! ^_^

(Oh and I totally agree with wishing the show had explored Duncan's darker side more!)

I always wished that Duncan would turn out to be evil on the show. At least then he'd be interesting.

I really liked this. I loved Veronica's flashbacks to being with Logan. I can only imagine how it would feel to have his undivided attention. Yummy! I'm relieved that you didn't have Duncan actually rape Veronica. Just attempting to was enough in my book. When she thought about how she wasn't going to scream because she didn't know how much worse it would get, that gave me chills.

That last sentence just killed me. If only she had remembered all along that Logan made her feel safe.

That definitely would have been interesting! It's always fun to explore the possibility of that.

And thank you for such a wonderful comment! It brought a smile to my face, as always. ^_^ Yeah, I didn't want to have him actually rape her because the fact that he's even trying to is horrible enough. And I'll admit that I was curious on whether or not I could push it further before she fought back, but after going over it again I've come to the decision that Veronica wouldn't have let it go any further unless it happened before that point where she snapped back to herself. Hopefully I explained that right, lol.

I'm so glad you liked that last sentence (and the fic in general, lol) because I really had trouble deciding where to end it so I'm glad that that worked. Having her go to Logan was something I knew I wanted to happen, it was just a matter of working it in there. (Either that or I would have included the other question given to me of what if Logan had showed up and heard what was going on as well.) Anyway, now that I've rambled, thanks again for the great feedback!

Honestly - it's really well done and I don't think I could have stood it, wouldn't have enjoyed it if you'd made it much darker. I love the image of Veronica pleasuring herself to memories of her w/ Logan, and my heart was in my throat when Duncan flipped out. I was so relieved when Veronica escaped, and even moreso when Logan answered the door. This is definitely WOW. So good.

Thank you! That's been the general reaction so far, so I'm extremely glad that I went with my instincts and didn't go darker. ^_^ I'm so glad that you were able to enjoy this, even with the non-con stuff in it. Again, thanks for the compliment and feedback!

I always thought that it should have turned out to be Duncan that blew up the bus, that he had known that meg was preggers all along or something... he always annoyed the hell out of me!
I liked this story, good job!

I liked the "what if" a lot and I'm a fan of having Veronica pull it together and defend herself in the situation. In the show, she let Duncan get away with a lot and while I doubt they ever would have gone THIS route, I wish Duncan had left and Veronica had made him pay for some of his bullshit.

Nicely done.

I love evil Duncan. I really like that he tried to rape her. Why was Duncan in her apartment anyways. Him going into her bedroom unannounced like that was rather creepy. I love how she saved herself instead of having someone resuce her but I do wonder what would have happened if Logan had been there to rescue her. I like that she went to Logan because she felt safe with him. Great story.

What a great prompt to have for the original story--I, too, wished they had brought out Duncan's darker side, but alas.

And the ending, *sigh* Love.

This was the best: The situation was suddenly too much for her and it was as if Veronica could actually feel the Veronica from last year taking over. That line nearly made me pump my fist in the air--the new Veronica would fight back, and do some damage in the process. Great story.
