Prayers please?
Or good thoughts if that's your thing. But I'm applying at a couple of places for a second job and I could use all the good thoughts/energy/prayers I could get hoping that I'll get one. It's the only thing I can come up with to try and get my finances in order, even if the job is only for a couple months or something.

So, please, keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.

*takes a deep breath* I'm desperately trying not to breakdown and cry right now since I sat down and tried to figure a way to make even a partial payment for everything and there's no way I can do it. There's just not. And I've got a refund check from cable but it's smaller than I thought it would be and I've got some box sets I can sell (God, I really don't want to sell all of Roswell and my White Collar but I think that's my next step if I don't get either of these jobs...maybe even if I do).

Thank you to everyone who replied to my other entry about the accident. I'm banking on more good thoughts from you guys, if you can.

Feeling: draineddrained

I'll definitely keep you in my prayers. I'm still looking for a job myself and getting worried because unemployment isn't very much and won't last forever. Good luck with everything *hugs*

Thanks, bb. I'll definitely be keeping you in my prayers as well that something will come through for you too. *hugs*

I would suggest Walmart, Target and Publix as good places to look for part time work. Walmart, especially 24 hours ones, tend to be more open about scheduling around a full time job and Target and Publix tend to be very good to their employees.

I've known people who've worked for both and one dropped their full time job to enter Publix's management program because they were so impressed by that corporation.

Thank you! I actually applied with Target last night, I'm going to check out Dollar Tree and Walmart. I hadn't heard of Publix so I checked them out and it looks like there's none over here in my area. I'll have to find a west coast equivalent. (Though from what you say, man, we need a Publix here!)

Thanks, Ava! *hugs*

Darn on the Publix front. They're one of the few bigger corporations that hasn't had to layoff anyone due to the economy. They're smart and growing so you might get one eventually.

Dollar Tree is also a good option and if you're decent at sales Victoria Secret tends to have good reputation if you have a local one.

They sound like a very good company to work for.

I actually worked at Dollar Tree a few years ago while I was in school so I'm hopeful on that one. And, yup, there's a Victoria's Secret not too far from me either so that's another one I'll have to consider.

*snuggles and prays for you* And I second the person that suggested Publix. A lot of my family members have worked there at some time or another.

You can do this, bb. <3

Thank you! I checked out Publix and it looks awesome but there's none over here in my area. I'll be looking for a west coast equivalent probably. *hugs tight*

Another place to try is a hotel. They are open 24 hours a day after all. I got a job working the night audit (11pm-7am) at a Hampton Inn. If you stick to the nicer hotels it can be a pretty cushy gig. My sleep schedule is crap but I do get to watch cable TV in the lobby and surf the net all night after I do my normal 5 hours worth of work in my 8 hour shift. Night audit is just a fancy name for a front deck clerk that has to run some reports and file things away before the next business day can officially start. Of course every once in a while you have some huge group and you actually have to work for most of your shift. But that's rare. If you work at a Hilton brand the employee stay perks are pretty nice.

It's crazy I didn't think of that considering how often I usually check for job openings at hotels! *facepalm* I'll definitely have to check that out. Thanks!

*hugs* I've been thinking of you all week. I'm sorry you have to work so hard. Stay strong and I know you are not alone, so don't feel that way, ok? All of my best thoughts and wishes are going to you tonight. Sometimes I really hate money.

*hugs tight* Thanks so much, bb. I definitely could use them though I'm doing much better now. So maybe they've been helping. Here's hoping that things start to get better soon. *hugs again*
