Fic: Too Much Interference (NC-17) 5/?
Title: Too Much Interference
Pairing: Buffy/Dean
Rating: NC-17
Spoilers: Buffy - through season 5, early season 6 later. Supernatural - at least through "No Exit" (2x06).
Summary: The Scoobies, Sam, and everyone else may feel like they know too much about Buffy and Dean, but they're not the only ones. Because, really, Buffy and Dean just want to know when they're all going to stop interfering in their lives. And more importantly, when they're going to stop interrupting them.
Disclaimer: Oh yeah. They're mine. Kripke and Whedon? They had to get my permission to create their shows. *pauses* Pfffft. Yeah, I wish. But I had you going there for a minute, didn't I?
Note: As you can probably guess, this is the companion piece to Aimee's Too Much Information. It will be done entirely from Buffy and Dean's POVs, hence the rating.

Since Buffy and Dean were asleep for most of chapter 5 for Too Much Information, I combined the events of chapters 5 and 6 into one chapter. Here's hoping it worked.

Previous Parts

Having Faith’s ass wiggling around in my face for a few hours is so not my idea of a fun time. Understatement of the year, I know. Seriously though, doesn’t the girl ever need to sit down?

Dean seems to be concentrating on the road rather than flirting, so I guess that’s something. We’re not all going to die from some horrible car crash. (As if Dean would let that happen to the car. He’d probably shove one of us into traffic if it meant saving his car.) From the looks of things, Sam is either very bored or very amused. Judging by the way his lips twitched over Faith’s last question, I’m going with amused.

Me? Well, I may be getting tired, but I do have to get my enjoyment whenever I can. This time, I’m deliberately sitting in a way that’ll leave Faith with less room once she finally gets tired of leaning forward. The extra bag just helps (and yes, I did pack some weapons…two bags worth, so there).

Petty? Probably.

Bitchy? Yeah, most likely.

Lots of fun for me? Definitely.

Once we left that gas station though, I fell asleep pretty easily. And sleep did wonders for me, what with the not having to pretend to be not listening to Faith and Dean.

Of course, I was a bit sore. I really hope I get used to sleeping in a car sometimes because I have a feeling there’ll be times where I’m going to have to catch sleep whenever I can. After all, we won’t always be able to stop for the night. (Which, hey, we just proved.)

The car ride was…well, it was a car ride. There were car games and there was swapping of stories. (For the record, Faith needs to get some new ones. She told the naked alligator one again. But stories of when she went briefly evil probably wouldn’t be as fun. Same for stories about being in jail. Unless she got a girlfriend while she was there but if she did, I so don’t need to know about it. Ever.)

But of all the places for this ghost to be killing hunters, did it have to be South Dakota? It couldn’t have been a nice big city where I could go and find something entertaining to do? I’m bored. I mean really bored. I must be if I’m crowded on a bed with Dean and Faith, watching TV.

I’m almost tempted to help Sam with research.

But I’m not that bored yet. Besides, he seems to have it covered and if I left the bed, we’d probably get a free show, which ew.

Why are we watching the Disney channel anyway? And why are we watching a show called Hannah Montana? More importantly, is it just me, or does it look like that girl has fangs? Sounds like it too.

Dean is never allowed to have the remote ever again.

“You’re never allowed to have the remote ever again.”

“Hey, it is not my fault the damn batteries gave out on this channel.”

“You could get up and change it by hand.”

He looks over at me. “Last I checked there was nothing wrong with your legs.”

“I’m not the one who insisted they be in charge of the remote. And I’m not the one who dropped it so that it disappeared under the bed.”

“I didn’t drop it!”

I roll my eyes. “Oh excuse me, I forgot. You threw it in frustration when the channel wouldn’t change.” I shake my head. “You’re probably a secret fan of these shows.” Oh, I think I actually offended him with that one.

“You take that back or I swear I’ll…”

“You’ll what?”

His eyes narrow. “I’ll take an axe to some of your shoes.”

My jaw drops. “You wouldn’t!”

“Oh, sweetheart, trust me, I would. It’d free up some room in the trunk at least.”

I’m pretty sure I heard Faith mutter, ‘Thank the frickin’ Lord,’ or something along those lines but whatever. I shake my head. “Okay, two of those bags are full of weapons.”

“Which is good because I’d worry for your mental health even more if it was all clothes.”

I’m fighting the urge to roll my eyes again when I feel the mattress shift. From the sounds of it, Faith has decided to go check up on Sam.

“What is your problem with Faith anyway?” Dean whispers. I look over at him before fixing my eyes to the TV. Fangs or not, this show is suddenly more interesting than the conversation. Oh, look, she’s got the blonde wig on. “Well?”

I sigh. He’s really not going to let this drop. “None of your business,” I whisper back. “Or, it would be none of your business if I had a problem. Which I don’t.” Oh sure, that was convincing.

“Right. Why don’t you quit lying and just say it?”

Pft. Like he knows anything about it. I really doubt that he and Faith have sat down and talked about our past. What was she going to tell him? ‘Sure, I killed a guy, went evil for awhile, Buffy put me in a coma and when I woke up, I used this little device from my former boss to switch our bodies and I slept with her boyfriend while in her body and then after trying to kill her ex, I realized the error of my ways and turned myself in.’ There’s a conversation opener.

Note my sarcasm.

“Look, Faith and I have rarely gotten along. Be happy we’re working together without bloodshed, okay?”

“Sounds like you’re downplaying it.”

“I heard Dawn say something about how she wasn’t comfortable having people who tried to kill her sister in the house. Considering I haven’t tried to do that and neither has Sam, I figured she meant Faith.”

“And hearing that, you still have to ask what my problem is?” What does he want, a list? I can add holding a knife on Willow, trying to turn Angel into Angelus, and threatening my mother with a knife to that list.

Yes, I’m still angry about it. And if my mom can get over it enough to be nice to Faith, I probably should too. I guess I could work on it.

“All I’m saying is tone it down. Be a little nicer.” Okay, I lost the fight and I’m rolling my eyes. What is he, a mind reader? “And you should probably drop your jealousy act.”

“Jealousy act? What are you talking about?”

“I can practically hear your teeth grinding when we’re talking.”

“Oh please. I am not jealous.”

“Really?” Oh, damn that smirk. Damn it to hell. And is he leaning closer?

“Really.” Yeah, he definitely leaned closer.

You know, I never noticed how many freckles Dean seems to have. And his lips. I know girls who would kill to have lips like that.

God, I really want to kiss him. Wouldn’t that be a fun way to end the argument?

This is, of course, the moment Faith decides to drop back down on the mattress, right between us, and lean into Dean’s chest.

That’s it. First chance I get, I’m kicking her. Hard.

And THAT was where I burst into laughter and have yet to stop. Oh, Buffy. You're too good.

And Dean's words DID have an edge of concern to them, that much I could tell. Which means he's not just interested in her body; he's interested in Buffy herself. Awwwww. *loves it*

Dammit, I need a Duffy icon now...

Hee, I'm so glad that you're liking this still. *beams*

And yup, Dean's interested in Buffy for Buffy and not just her body. He notices stuff about her - which actually comes up in the next chapter and, of course, he completely tries to deny. LOL. Because he's Dean. So yay!

Feel free to raid my icons. Mel made all but one of them (Lisa made the one that says "Fighters") and that includes the one I'm using now. She's got others when you click on the icons tag at her journal, dhfreak. And I don't remember if Lisa (exposed1) made others...ah, well, you're best bet actually is probably buffyxdean since that's got graphics challenges and stuff so there's icons there. Which reminds me that I've only posted the first chapter of this there. Oops! LOL
