I'm a nerd. Or dork. Or both, whatever. LOL.
I am such a dorky nerdy fangirl. I can't go a whole day without associating something with fandom in some way. And today, it's the book I'm reading. I'm rereading Montana Sky by Nora Roberts and it's set on a ranch (three guesses where *g*) and their guns? Winchesters. Which has me fighting off a grin whenever it's mentioned. But the exchange that had me giggling was this one:

"Being cocky isn't much protection against a knife."

"A Winchester is."

BWAH! And since in one of her more recent books (Key of Light, the first in the Key trilogy if you're interested), she had two of her main characters have (and yes, I'm a big enough dork that I know exactly which book to find it in and where) this exchange:

"I had a dream."

"I was having a damn good one myself. I think it involved Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a really big vat of dark chocolate, and then you called and interrupted it."

Plus Harry Potter references. So really, I'm just waiting for the day when she brings up one of the Winchesters in a book. I mean, come on, it could happen right?

Right. So that's my dorkiness of the day.

Now...if you'll excuse me, I've got three Buffy/SPN crossovers in the works, two of which could be used for this week's challenge at spn_btvs. I just have to finish one. So I think I'm going to go do that. *runs off*

But anyways, you totally need to get the next book in Sherrilyn Kenyon's series...you like it right? ^_^

LOL, well it's true! She does make all sorts of references in her books! And really, I'm just waiting for a Supernatural reference.

Um, honestly, I kind of forgot about the next one. LOL. I am liking them though.

Mmm, chocolate.

LOL Okay, mmm Spike, too. You should read Blue Smoke, if you haven't already. There's a Xander in that one, and he calls his wife An. The lead female is sort of Faith-ish, too.

Mindreader! I literally finished that book last week. ^_^ I got it for Christmas and that was the first chance I had to read it. I finished rereading Montana Sky tonight and now I have to find another book to carry around with me for when I go to lunch. Oops.

The Three Sisters Island trilogy is good too lol

Oooh! I love that one too. LOL, I've got about....3 shelves full of Nora Roberts - including her entire J. D. Robb series. *is laughing at self* Gee, can you tell who my favorite author is?
Kateslayerkate on March 10th, 2007 02:20 am (UTC)
She used to be my favorite author, too. I don't know, I started reading one of her recent novels, and it just didn't click for me.
I love Mary Janice Davidson's Undead series.

I'm tempted to name my first born Winchester, if it's a boy. How cool would that be? And if I could genetically engineer him. He'd totally have dark hair and green eyes, like his mommy.

Of course Lee would probably never be okay with this since he knows that Winchester is the last name for the SPN boys. I'll have to make him forget that fact because really a cool name! My mother-in-law would flip. MUHAHAHA! The name is growing on me more...

LMAO! What cracks me up is that it's growing on you more now that you think of how your mother-in-law would flip. *g* Hee!

Well... yeah. It's like last year my friend had a baby boy and named him Tripp, which I really like. It's unique but not so odd that it's stupid. The mother-in-law made this face like "eww why would you name it that" so I told her when Lee and I decide to have kids that we won't be doing any name sharing. Unless the name is HORRID i.e. Dickster or Gaylord I think people shouldn't mock the names. Or perhaps due to Lisa feeling evol today she wants to stick it to her. LOL

Dude - I LOVE Nora Roberts and her crush on the Buffy-verse. The first mention of it was in "Chesapeake Blue", the fourth novel of the Chesapeake Bay series, which is one of my favourite series of hers. But then I have an ENTIRE bookcase devoted to Nora in my room, and I re-read her stuff like crazy. I think I've read Montana Sky like 6 times.

Oh yeah, me too! I've got 3 shelves of her on my bookcase (part of that is her J. D. Robb series, which I love and have all of it, lol). I swear, I just...make my way through the shelves each time I want something to read. Montana Sky was one of the first books I ever read by her. *thinks* Damn. It's been years. LOL.
