Midterm today. Which, oddly enough, doesn't bother me so much.
Well, hey, it's Shakespeare. And I like reading him for fun, so....

Still, I wish we'd gone over Henry IV a bit more. Covering both parts in only a few days just wasn't as fun. (Though we did spend more time on the first part.) Luckily, I was able to recognize all but one or two of the excerpts from that play on the practice midterm. So, yay!

I'm hoping it won't be too hard. The midterm itself is only two parts. The first part she's just giving us twelve different passages from the four plays we've studied so far and we have to identify and analyze eight of them. The plays? The Comedy of Errors, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer's Night Dream, and Henry IV. Part two is where she gives us three different exchanges from a couple of the plays and we pick one and in a few paragraphs we have to explain the context of it in relation to the theme(s) of the play and the importance of it overall, things like that.

And okay, I'm pretty sure that I may have just bored some of you to death. ^_^ What can I say? I'm a big English-majoring geek. One who uses the phrase "geeking out" (something that came up at the study group earlier) and does, in fact, geek out over getting to read these plays for credit. Next up? Writing a paper on the history plays since we did the comedy paper already.

And then? Tragedies. Oh yeah, I'm so taking Shakespeare II next semester.

Honestly, I think this is the only class I've ever had where I was disappointed (to the point of muttering that the highlight of my day when it came to classes was ruined) when it got cancelled.

Okay, so now that I've rambled on about Shakespeare and papers and stuff, I'm off so that I can get some sleep before class tomorrow.

HEE. LOVE! I am, too, so I fully appreciate this post :). Or, I WAS, anyway. Now that I'm in grad. school I'm ONLY a history majoring geek, but there was a time when I was an English majoring geek, too. Does that make me DOUBLY geeky?

Anyway, pointless, but I LOVE ME THE SHAKESPEARE. So feel free to post about it whenever you please ;).

Yay! It's always good to know I'm not the only one out there. LOL.

Hmm...doubly geeky. Good question. Could be....

How is history anyway? I considered minoring in that for a bit (though the amount of credits I'd need is so close to a major that it would just be easier to double major) even though I'm leaning more towards Criminal Justice now.

*reads your icon* So pretty! And hee, see, now I know I'm not going to be boring everyone with random Shakespeare stuff so I'm totally going to post stuff now. :D

For some reason, I saw the Disney icon and decided to counter with my RPS icon. *snort* I'm so going to hell when I think of the things I do. (Icon usage being the least of them when I think of the fic!)

Anyway, thanks! And yay for crack of the Shakespeare variety! *g*
