Anyone watch Smash?
I've been rewatching season one since I got the DVDs and I just love this song and how Megan Hilty sings it. (MEGAN HILTY, NEVER LEAVE ME.)

Just gorgeous.

I know I've been gone for awhile but RL's been in the way. I swear I'm still around though! I just wanted to pop by here and share this with you guys because, really, it's such a beautiful song and she's got an amazing voice so if you don't watch the show, give the song a chance! (I'd recommend the songs even if you don't watch the show actually. They've got some damn good ones.)

Feeling: sleepysleepy
Soundtrack: Bombshell soundtrack

Anytime! Sometimes it seems all I've got time to do is share songs or videos lately! LOL. :)

I was really excited to see Smash when it first started, and I managed to watch the first few episodes and liked them but it was on at an odd time so I kind of lost track of it & haven't seen it in a long time. I was waiting for the dvd to come out so I could watch it properly, but then it was too expensive so I'm waiting for it to become cheaper before I buy it xP haha
ANYWAY, I do have the soundtrack on my ipod so I've been listening to that occasionally and there are some really nice ones on there. Crazy Dreams and Shake It Out are my favourites. I'm not familiar with the one in that video though. Megan Hilty is amazing <3

I was so excited about Smash when I heard about it (my friend saw the preview and what it was about, looked at me and just went "Geez, it's like they know you." lol) and I lucked out that I have DVR since season one aired at the same time as Castle so I recorded both. So far, season two got moved to Tuesdays and now on Saturday nights (apparently, all of NBC's shows are having issues) so as of last night I was able to watch it live again!

LOL, I get that. I bought season one when Target had it on sale the way they usually do with stuff in the first week. Until I had the DVD in hand though, I had all the season one eps saved on my DVR and they only got deleted once I knew the DVDs didn't freeze or anything.

I knew Megan Hilty because of videos I'd seen of her in Wicked so I flailed when I saw she was going to be in this, lol. My jaw dropped the first time it showed Ivy practicing talking like Marilyn Monroe because, wow, she nailed it.

I love Crazy Dreams - it's my favorite song off the show's soundtrack. Though Haven't Met You Yet is right behind it. This song is actually on the soundtrack they released for Bombshell, the musical about Marilyn that they're doing on the show. It's got 22 songs, some that you don't get to hear until season 2 but there's some really great ones. There's an extended version of Let Me Be Your Star (about 30 seconds of an intro was added) and all sorts of songs you get to hear throughout the show. Actually, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT8RNEzRFVM&feature=share&list=PLld7Rad4WC8i4v1AfATpod6dpu2DQnA30

That'll play the soundtrack for you, in the order it's on on the CD so you can see if you'd want to buy it (or find a DL for it! LOL - maybe convert the video to audio).

Edit: Okay, actually, a number of the songs on that link, you'll have to click to watch it outside of the playlist but at least you'll be able to get to the songs! :)

hehe yeah I recognised Megan Hilty's name from Wicked, so that's part of the reason I wanted to watch the show in the first place. Just like when Glee first started, because I'd heard that Kristin Chenoweth was going to be in it xP

Let Me Be Your Star was the song that really drew me in when I saw the pilot! I love the added intro. Not a *big* fan of The National Pastime or 20th Century Fox Mambo, but I'd probably like them more if I watch the show properly. Those are the only ones I've really heard before.

LOL, I have to admit when I heard about Glee when they were airing the pilot the first time, it was more "Musical on TV, yay! Must watch!" :D

I love that song so much. And the choreography definitely helps for the other two though I prefer The National Pastime. Probably because the choreography for that one is so chock full of sexual innuendo that I end up laughing every time I hear it because I picture the choreography and the way Julia and Tom crack up when they first see it. (Also, NGL, because for me, Ivy feels more suited to be Marilyn than Karen does and so I prefer her in the part. Both have amazing voices though.) After listening to the soundtrack so much, I also love Let's Start Tomorrow Tonight and Hang the Moon.

Love the video! I only watch like two episodes of the show though, and couldn't get into it. I have it on a list to watch though, so that I'll try it again.

Well, hopefully you'll find something that'll get you into it (I recommend Jack Davenport or Megan Hilty, lmao) but if not, the music alone is definitely worth it! :)
