How and the heck did I miss the first two sections of this darling story? Have you been hiding them? Holding out on me? *pouts* I see how it is.

My pettiness aside this was fantastic! I think it's perfect that you didn't mention an instant attraction between Buffy and Dean. I'm actually getting a bit tired of the same old: boy sees girl, boy bangs girl, boy and girl fall madly in love and have a thousand babies... okay that was a bit much, but you catch my drift and this, this little gem is a far cry from that. *beams* I can always count on you to buck the trend. Yayness!

Though I do have one question: How does Buffy speak in normal tones when she’s can’t hear? I know that the deaf can speak, but usually there’s a monotone to it, less infliction than the average person’s voice. *is curious*

Holding out on you? Never!

*bounces* Yay and thank you! I know what you mean about getting tired of the same formula over and over and so I'm trying to steer away from that. Very glad that it's working. :D Also? That entire comment just pretty much made me very happy.

And you're very right about deaf people being able to speak but that it's usually more monotone. I got Buffy being able to talk in more normal tones (I'm going to actually address the fact that Dean feels like he should have known because now that he does know, he's noticing that her voice is just slightly different.) from some of the research I did when starting the first piece in the series that talked about how it was a bit easier for people who had been able to hear before and that speech therapy helped.

Don't get me wrong though - she's not talking perfectly. But she's able to pull it off when she's not constantly talking or talking a lot, at least. I'm making Buffy a bit quieter and a bit more about observing people than she used to be. Still talking but mostly using sign language, the computer, writing, and even Willow's magic (like how Buffy, Willow, and Xander talked in...Bring on the Night? No, the episdoe after that, in season 7).
